Discover Gorski
Let us introduce to you the widely undiscovered Polish neoromantic composer and violinist-virtuoso, Konstanty Gorski (1859-1924)
About
In 2018, Yoanna Ayers together with the Association TAK! from Cracow initiated developing a series of concerts promoting music of the Polish forgotten composer, Konstanty Gorski (1859-1924). They produced three distinct concerts with musicians from Poland and Georgia, in classical and jazz arrangements.

Concerts we prepared for you
We have prepared three disctinct concerts with the music of Konstanty Gorski
Religious music with the organ and a choir a cappella (including outstanding Organ Fantasy)
Beautiful compositions include a song cycle to Virgin Mary for voice solo, organ, violin and choir - in Latin language; as well as a concert for choir a cappella written to the text of the Old Church Slavonic prayer from a funeral rite. In this concert also Gorski's Organ Fantasy is performed; interestingly, this piece is perceived as the best late romantic piece for organ written by a Polish composer.
Duo for violin and piano
Gorski was a violinist-virtuoso and this can be heard in his masterly composed pieces for violin and piano. It is clear already from the titles that this music has a distinctly Polish flare: Premiere Mazourka, Seconde Mazourka sur des chants polonaise, Polonaise de Concert, etc.
12 Polish songs in jazz arrangements (for voice and piano)
Gorski's songs are filled with fascinating harmonies - very modern for the time when they were written (1914) - and this inspired us to explore Gorski's compositions as an inspiration for jazz music and improvisation. In these interpretations, we bring to the surface the sensuality of the texts of the songs – poems written by famous Polish -romantic, positivist and modern art - authors.

"Konstanty Gorski in Tbilisi"
Our project implemented in Georgia in 2018
In 2018, Association TAK! from Cracow invited Polonia organisations from Tbilisi to organise a series of events promoting the music of Konstanty Gorski in Georgia.

In the framework of a project sponsored by the Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland two large concerts were produced in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Polish and Georgian artists performed together. The events were warmly welcomed by the Tbilisi public, who became significantly interested in the music of Konstanty Gorski as well as his activities in Georgia. The concerts were organised under the honorary patronage of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Georgia.
